Sodium Warning Label

Media Campaign Promoting Awareness and Understanding

DETAILS

Challenge

To increase knowledge and decrease purchase/consumption of high sodium products.

Strategy

Create an awareness campaign that introduces the new sodium warning label and places it in chain restaurant environments, highlighting where the consumers will see and interact with the icon.

Utilizing stop-motion animation for our TV spot and social media assets, we were able to use real salt to tell our story, create reinforcing imagery, and strengthen the impact of the icon design. View the English and the Spanish TV spots.

Results

A post-campaign study was conducted for New York City Department of Health. When asked, 59% stated they had seen or heard advertising about sodium warnings on restaurant menus. As a result of seeing this advertising campaign, 28% said they are more likely to use the sodium warning information to make menu selections when eating out.

NYC Youth Health

Social Media Campaign

DETAILS

Challenge

Raise awareness of youth health initiatives in New York City, especially places teens can go to acquire condoms and learn how to protect themselves against STIs.

Strategy

Deliver an ice-breaker that will reduce the awkwardness of talking about sex using a key communication and sexting tool: Emojis. These visuals were accompanied by the call to action, “Need to talk to someone about ‘it’?” Clicking on these ads would take our audience to
the YouthHealth website that featured clinic locators and relevant health facts, ranging from sexual to mental health.

Results

This campaign resulted in over 5 million impressions among NYC youth and generated 153,288 clicks to the YouthHealth website where they could learn about sexual health and make appointments. It won the Shorty Award for Best Use of Emoji and was named the Audience Honor winner, as voted on by the fans, in the same category.
